This Cotswold thatched cottage has a large private - and dog friendly - walled garden. This delightful area is peaceful, pretty and secluded and carefully designed to feature a range of environments. A lawn edged by flowering shrubs gives way to a formal box-lined path with scented plants like rosemary and thyme. A low-walled orchard with apples and plums has mown paths through areas of wild flowers together with a herb garden of parsley, sage, sorrel, fennel, rocket, strawberries and mint - please help yourself.
The ruins of an historic farm outbuilding make a perfect outdoor seating area with luxury rattan sofas and soft cushions. A big sun canopy hangs overhead with atmospheric up-lights available as the sun sets. There is also an aluminium table and chairs which you can move around the garden areas to suit your mood.
A stone path runs from this Cotswold holiday cottage to the rear of the dog friendly garden, its planted with scented plants and herbs. The path is actually now largely overgrown - but we have decided that we like it just as it is! The whole garden meanwhile enjoys an open south-facing panorama over the lands of the Bathurst Estate and rings with birdsong. Enjoy your romantic retreat breakfast here on a sunny morning and you may just find yourself staying all day!
